As
the RCA Regional Office gears up for full
operation, select experts gathered from 7 to 9
June in Jeju Island, Korea to discuss and
provide perspective on the future of the RCARO. The strategies and work plans arising from the Workshop will
guide the future functions of the regional
office, whose interim period has recently ended,
and who now enjoys the stewardship of a
newly-appointed Director, Dr. Kun Mo-Choi.
Personalities
who have been instrumental to the establishment
of the RCARO and who are recognized as senior
members/experts of the Regional Cooperative
Agreement (RCA) programme were invited to the
workshop, including PNRI Director and current
RCA National Representative of the Philippines,
Dr. Alumanda dela Rosa, and her predecessor, Dr.
Carlito R. Aleta.
As
an offshoot of the Workshop, a four-month
consultancy contract was also forged between the
RCARO and Dr. Aleta, who has been tasked with
the furtherance of RCA visibility in the
international community. |
